The Celestial Earth’s Gurugram Cooling Action Plan Featured in The Times of India

The research-driven Cooling Action Plan for Gurugram, prepared by The Celestial Earth, commissioned by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), and launched by the Government of Haryana, has been featured in The Times of India.

The article highlights how data-driven planning measures—including passive building design, cool and green roofs, improved insulation, and district cooling—can reduce cooling energy demand by up to 68%, while significantly lowering associated emissions.

Importantly, the Cooling Action Plan is aligned with Gurugram’s Net-Zero Climate Action Plan, also developed by The Celestial Earth, ensuring that the city’s growing cooling needs do not undermine its long-term climate and decarbonization goals.

This recognition underscores the value of evidence-based, climate-responsive urban planning in supporting the transition toward cooler, low-carbon cities across India.
