Dr. Tania Bhattacharya, our Founder CEO, was a panelist of Navigating a Sustainable Future through Green Energy on PHDCC’s Sustainable Cities Summit that happened on 6th August 2024 at PDH House, New Delhi.
She was interviewed by The Interview World, after her session.
The summary of the interview: “India’s ambitious goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070 is a significant commitment in the global fight against climate change. This requires a transformation across sectors like energy production, industrial processes, transportation, and agriculture. To achieve this, India should focus on climate adaptation, carbon sequestration, and the adoption of green technology and infrastructure. Financial mechanisms, such as blended finance, can be used to attract investments from both public and private sectors. The focus should be broad, covering all sectors under a unified strategy, but prioritizing enhancing cooling systems and accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles. India’s progress in meeting its carbon emissions targets is not meaningful due to its differing economic contexts. A gradual, measured approach to emission reductions is crucial for balancing economic and environmental priorities.”
