The Celestial Earth’s Executive Director, Dr. Anindya Bhattacharya has attended Africa Climate Summit 2023 in Nairobi, on 5th September 2023.
This event opens up a new dimension in the thought process of conventional methods of mitigation and adaptation planning. Global South of Africa is gearing up to bring up the issues like equity and climate justice in climate finance, change in conventional financing mechanism and taxing carbon. Africa starts valuing their natural resources like never seen before and last but not the least, the region is grossly engaged with the private sectors for leveraging finance. Role of multilateral banks and financial institutions are expected to be redefined.
The draft of the Nairobi Declaration also has been declared after this event.
